Abstract

Along with the development of the times, the education system has progressed very rapidly, especially in the industrial era 4.0 which demands the use of technology in all fields related to people's lives, one of which is in the field of education. In this modern era, the process of learning activities has led to the 21st century learning process. 21st century learning applies creativity, critical thinking, cooperation, problem solving, communication skills, social skills, and character skills. All skills that must be mastered in the learning process in the 21st century use a student center approach, so that students have the biggest contribution in learning activities. This is done solely to improve quality human resources, because by educating students using existing methods or strategies in the 21st century learning process it is hoped that quality human resources will be created. The purpose of this study is to see how far the efforts to improve the quality of human resources are by using the 21st century learning system. This study uses a literature study research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. To answer the demands of 21st century learning, it is necessary to carry out a curriculum development to improve the quality of existing education. In Indonesia, the government has made several curriculum changes, one of which is the 2013 curriculum and has developed into an independent curriculum. One of the efforts to improve the quality of human resources is by developing their cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects as well. This is because Indonesia needs strong, insightful, and skilled human resources. The teacher plays an important role in the formation of this attitude.
